Title: Microsoft Ergonomic Sculpt Keyboard and Mouse don't work Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Package version: 3.13.0-32.57 Linux version 3.13.0-32-generic (buildd@kissel) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Ubuntu 4.8.2-19ubuntu1) ) #57-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 15 03:51:08 UTC 2014 (Ubuntu 3.13.0-32.57-generic 3.13.11.4) Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release: 14.04 First off, this is a regression, as linux- image-3.13.0-30-generic=3.13.0-30.55 and before worked just fine. Even to type in encrypted root partition password. To make sure other drivers' loading messages didn't interfere, I unplugged and plugged the transceiver after booting. (But things look the same during boot, just touchpad messages and the likes interwoven with these lines.) With -32.57, I see: Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 321.260831] usb 3-3: USB disconnect, device number 2 Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 326.918573] usb 3-3: new full-speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 326.939575] usb 3-3: New USB device found, idVendor=045e, idProduct=07a5 Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 326.939621] usb 3-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 326.939640] usb 3-3: Product: Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0 Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 326.939657] usb 3-3: Manufacturer: Microsoft When booting -30.55, I get a lot more: Jul 18 13:40:58 eris kernel: [ 1598.021499] usb 3-3: USB disconnect, device number 2 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.107433] usb 3-3: new full-speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.128779] usb 3-3: New USB device found, idVendor=045e, idProduct=07a5 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.128787] usb 3-3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.128791] usb 3-3: Product: Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.128794] usb 3-3: Manufacturer: Microsoft Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.131735] input: Microsoft Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb3/3-3/3-3:1.0/input/input19 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.132027] hid-generic 0003:045E:07A5.0004: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Keyboard [Microsoft Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0] on usb-0000:00:14.0-3/input0 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.136834] input: Microsoft Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb3/3-3/3-3:1.1/input/input20 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.137249] hid-generic 0003:045E:07A5.0005: input,hidraw1: USB HID v1.11 Mouse [Microsoft Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0] on usb-0000:00:14.0-3/input1 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.155014] input: Microsoft Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb3/3-3/3-3:1.2/input/input21 Jul 18 13:41:03 eris kernel: [ 1602.155421] hid-generic 0003:045E:07A5.0006: input,hidraw2: USB HID v1.11 Device [Microsoft Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v9.0] on usb-0000:00:14.0-3/input2 Attached is lspci -vnvn for -30.55, I will also upload for -32.57, along with lsusb output. I tried to get usbmon output for (un+re)plugging, but was only able to get it on -30.55, as -32.57 seems to be missing the usbmon module. --- ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.2 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: drwilco 3735 F.... pulseaudio CurrentDesktop: LXDE DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=73e5b44f-7523-460a-a0e7-46b0a9de44b8 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-12-20 (574 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Release amd64 (20121017.5) MachineType: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
