Hi, I've had this problem since november 2013 when I bought the laptop. With Ubuntu 13.10 at least modprobe and modprobe -r used to work. With Ubuntu 14.04 the connection drops even more often and only restart helps (most of the times). All drivers I found origin from the released by RealTek. They seem to have a bug which no one still cannot find and fix.
