First off, the mainline builds are not supported. They are provided only for testing purposed. You should confirm that the problem also exists with the official kernel.
Since you're using the wl driver though the problem is most likely not in the kernel itself but in that driver. You should still test against the official kernel since the Ubuntu wl driver probably hasn't been tested with mainline builds, but I'm going to go ahead and change this report to be against bcmwl-kernel-source. ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => bcmwl (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1317604 Title: no wifi with kernel 3.15 Status in “bcmwl” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: bug #1307744: this bug (which was reported for the mainline kernel 3.15rc1) occurs also when using the kernel 3.15.0-0.1 of the ppa of the canonical kernel team. --- ApportVersion: 2.14.2-0ubuntu2 Architecture: i386 CurrentDesktop: LXDE DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-02-12 (85 days ago) InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 13.10 "Saucy Salamander" - Release i386 (20131016.1) NonfreeKernelModules: wl Package: linux (not installed) Tags: utopic Uname: Linux 3.14.3-031403-generic i686 UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to utopic on 2014-05-03 (5 days ago) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo vboxusers _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1317604/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
