Hi Christopher, thank you for investigating this issue. My netbook runs on Ubuntu and there is no Windows installed on the device. Therefore, I am (presently) not able to perform a BIOS update following the sources you provided. Samsung only provides an Windows 7 executable, which seams to be an BIOS updater, downloading the proper image. At least it tells me that it cannot download the necessary information. I'll try to get around this obstacle, but it will take some time.
