I'm seeing this issue on a fresh 14.04 install. However, unlike 13.10, using "nomodeset" and the generic SVGA X drivers seem to work enough to start the display at its native resolution. As you can see, the Intel driver isn't being loaded at all on my ux302lg: # lshw -c video *-display UNCLAIMED description: VGA compatible controller product: Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2 bus info: pci@0000:00:02.0 version: 09 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: msi pm vga_controller bus_master cap_list configuration: latency=0 resources: memory:f7400000-f77fffff memory:d0000000-dfffffff ioport:f000(size=64) Using the following intel-drm-next kernel, along with removing "nomodeset" from my boot options, has allowed me to get the intel driver working, like others have reported: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-next/current /linux-image-3.14.0-997-generic_3.14.0-997.201404170342_amd64.deb As well, the nvidia card seems to function correctly with bumblebee, even with the intel-drm-next kernel. So hopefully we'll see a backport of a newer kernel with these fixes into 14.04 at some point, perhaps for 14.0.4.1?
