Title:
Intel AX200 Bluetooth fails to initialize due to firmware symlinks and
.zst compression
Status in linux-firmware package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
On recent Ubuntu releases (e.g. 24.04, kernel 6.11), Bluetooth support
for Intel AX200 fails during boot due to how firmware files are
packaged in the linux-firmware package.
The firmware files required by the btusb driver:
/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-19-0-4.ddc
/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-19-0-4.sfi
…are symbolic links to .zst compressed files, e.g.:
ibt-0040-0041.ddc.zst
ibt-19-0-0.sfi.zst
However, the btusb kernel module:
Cannot follow symlinks or decompress .zst files during early boot:
Bluetooth: hci0: Reading Intel version command failed (-110)
