Title:
USB3 device fails to be recognized in latest 24.04 kernel
  (6.8.0-71-generic).

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
USB3 device fails to be recognized in latest 24.04 kernel
(6.8.0-71-generic). It IS recognized and mounted in kernel
6.0.0-64-generic AND OLDER. I am currently running the 64 kernel (when
  the bug data was collected).

The message in syslog when running the 6.8.0-71-generic kernel when
the USB3 device is inserted into the USB3 port is:

  2025-08-05T15:35:00.543044-04:00 duet kernel: usb 8-1: new high-speed
USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd

There are no other USB-related messages in syslog around the time the
  device is inserted.

Just to let you know, this is not totally isolated, not simply a weird
one-off. We are experiencing USB3 issues on 2 other machines with
different hardware, on current AND older kernels. This cropped up on
upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04. I have not gotten far enough along in
troubleshooting those to open a bug yet.

Your automated reporting system did not like the "packages" of
nemo....syslog....kernel for where I "found" the bug, so this is
marked as "I don't know". Ah, the limits of wizarded reporting
  systems.....

I am willing to work with anyone who is working on this issue, to try
to assist in getting to the bottom of this.

  Thanks for your time.
