Title:
unnecessary fan running after resuming from suspend

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I put my laptop to sleep. Some time later, I resume from suspend by opening
the lid; the fan immediately runs at full speed and does not stop. This is the
case even when the laptop is not running any heavy tasks. Upon running
"sensors" from the lm-sensors package, one of the temperature sensors reports
this:
  acpitz-acpi-0
  Adapter: ACPI interface
  temp1: +48.0°C

It otherwise reports a temperature in the mid-30s

Putting the laptop back into suspend, waiting a few seconds for the
fan to stop and then opening the lid, thus resuming from suspend, will
usually fix the problem of the fan running, and the incorrect
temperature report. Sometimes I may need to close and open the lid two
  or three times.
