Thanks for the report. I do see the commit "UBUNTU: SAUCE: hack:
efi/libstub: enable t14s boot failure hack only" in plucky but not
questing. I'll investigate further and work on this in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2107976 to keep it
all together.

Bug description:
With older Macs Questing fails to boot. The built-in displays stay
blank but the backlight is visible until I force the computers to
power off. External video doesn't show anything.
This is almost certainly the same issue as for Plucky:

The fix for Plucky just rolled out as an SRU but Questing inherited
the bad patch.
