It's been long enough. Let's not confuse people by making this bug look
open. Also the 560 driver would never get relevant fixes anyway.

Bug description:
  This is a continuation of a bug that was discussed on
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2080282

  I will summarize here for completeness.

  The problem is with nvidia-driver-560 (and nvidia-driver-560-open)
  gnome applications like baobab crash on startup on systems with
  intel+nvidia hybrid graphics with the following error:

  Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.

  This is documented in the following places:
  1. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/11723
  2.
https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/gdk-message-error-71-protocol-error-dispatching-to-wayland-display/127927

  When you use the following env vars the applications work fine:

  GSK_RENDERER=gl baobab
  GSK_RENDERER=ngl baobab

  Additionally, hardware rendering and hardware video decode don't work
  on chrome with 560. Everything works with the nvidia-driver-550
  series.

  The mesa link above and @aleasto suspect the way Vulkan is being
  handled with nvidia-driver-560 (and nvidia-driver-560-open)
