FYI: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2105402 ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 2105402 Plucky fails to boot on (older) Macs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2107645 Title: MacBook doesn't boot kernel 6.14 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Upgrading from Ubuntu 24.10 to 25.04 renders my MacBook Pro 2014 unusable, because it doesn't boot anymore. No error, the screen just stays blank. Here's what I've tried: - booting with systemd-boot EFI stub - booting vmlinuz directly (using efibootmgr) - enabling/disabling initrd But the problem persists. The screen stays blank. However, with the following methods booting a kernel works: - going back to Ubuntu 24.10's kernel 6.11 works partly (kernel boots, but the init process fails with an error) - booting Ubuntu 25.04 Live from USB (kernel 6.14 works perfectly here) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2107645/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
