This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-nvidia/6.8.0-1026.29
kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and
update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the
tag 'verification-needed-noble-linux-nvidia' to 'verification-done-
noble-linux-nvidia'. If the problem still exists, change the tag
'verification-needed-noble-linux-nvidia' to 'verification-failed-noble-
linux-nvidia'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

Title:
  DOE Discovery Issues

Status in linux-nvidia package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in linux-nvidia source package in Noble:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
We see the following DOE errors when booting systems with certain
  NVIDIA GPUs:

kernel: pci 0009:01:00.0: DOE: [2c8] ABORT timed out
kernel: pci 0009:01:00.0: DOE: [2c8] failed to reset mailbox with abort
command : -5
kernel: pci 0009:01:00.0: DOE: [2c8] failed to create mailbox: -5

Newer generation GPUs do support DOE, but only using DOE discovery v2.

Add this support by cherry-picking the following patch:

https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/eebab7e3eb4bb906a8ebc3b70d28059ff1d9271c
