The Fedora hwdata package is used as the basis of the Ubuntu hwdata package, which is great. I've updated my sync script to report Dell monitors that are missing from both Fedora and Ubuntu packaging now. Here's the list of missing packages from Ubuntu gutsy and hardy 0.200. These will all be included in Fedora 8 hwdata-0.207-2 starting tomorrow. Addressed: Attach patch adds the listed monitors to kde-guidance's MonitorsDB, used by S&G and BPX. Reproduction: Using one of the monitors listed above, attempt to configure it using S&G or BPX. The monitor will not be listed. Regression Potential: Near zero. This merely adds some new entries to MonitorsDB, which is only used if the user configures using either BulletproofX or Screens and Graphics (in many cases, Ubuntu's defaults and xorg autodetection will "just work").
