Right; I can confirm FIXED with :- linux-image-6.11.0-17-generic 6.11.0-17.17~24.04.2
ALSO I can confirm that fixes ANOTHER issue we were having with inability to wake up from screen power-off on Thinkpad T490s . My main concern is that all Ubuntu Desktop variants (official and unofficial) and Derivatives (Pop OS, Mint 22.x, etc) are actually set to USE this HWE kernel, in actuality rather than just supposedly the correct desktop/supported. I am concerned that regression-causing 6.8.0-53-generic will be carelessly rolled out without warning and cause headaches to unwary / those least able to fix the damage. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2097541 Title: 6.8.0-53-generic test causes session crashes with mic/camera use Status in linux package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Testing 6.8.0-53-generic (noble-proposed) on a Thinkpad t490s running Cinnamon desktop causes X11 session crash either 'cheese' or 'gnome-sound-recorder' programs started. Similarly, Camera/Mic do not appear within firefox connected to Jitsi.Meet (no crash in that case). I've attempted to look for any xorg log errors and kernel/dmesg errors without success. Kernel 6.8.0-52-generic has been fine. May be able to give some more debugging if directed what to look for and try, and hopeful to see if a 6.8.0-54-generic will come out before any release to general users.
