Title:
No link on RTL8111D - also breaks link on Windows
Status in Linux:
Won't Fix
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
MY Realtek RTL8111D onboard ethernet this doesn't work in Ubuntu 10.10.
Network Manager shows the adapter as disconnected and ip link show eth0 gives:
2: eth0: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state
DOWN qlen 1000
The adapter works under Windows 7. If one has booted Linux once, then
the adapter doesn't work under Windows 7 anymore, even after a power
off/power on cycle. One needs to power off and *turn off the power
supply* (on/off power supply switch or remove power cable) for e.g. 5
mn to get the adapter to work again under Windows.
