Unfortunately, they can't update the ucm conf files alone. They would
also need to update the ALSA libs to read the newer Syntax version
("Syntax 6").

I made a PPA for that a while ago:

If you use the PPA, you should be able to use alsa-ucm 1.2.11
(1.2.12 introduces another incompatible syntax change, "Syntax 7")

  alsa-ucm-conf is very out of date on 22.04, hardware support for a ton
  of motherboards that use the ALC4080 is missing.

  Please update to v1.2.9 released a few weeks ago which fixes this.
