  alc883 audio chip not found in 2.6.28-11 kernel, works with 2.6.27-11

Bug description:
  I upgraded overnight from 8.10 to 9.04 and lost sound in the jump from
  2.6.27-11 to 2.6.28-11. With the new kernel, I'm only getting the HDMI
  interface and my cx8800 audio chip on my pchdtv3000. When I boot into
  2.6.27, `aplay -l` gives me this:
