On noble, the /etc/update-motd.d/50-sysinfo file does not report any temperature. Same thing in jammy, which you upgraded from:
(jammy-amd64)root@toaster:/etc/update-motd.d# grep -R Temperature . || echo nothing nothing I am not sure where you got the motd configuration that prints temperature (maybe an old release), but that is not supported on Ubuntu it seems. I would advise you to find the line in your /etc/update-motd.d that displays temperature and remove it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Noble) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Undecided => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2088216 Title: Temperature in the MOTD screen shows severl million degrees C Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Invalid Status in linux source package in Noble: Invalid Bug description: Both in the MOTD and in Sensors the temperature shows in the millions of degrees Celsius.
