Description: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Release: 24.04

----

Three months ago I upgraded from Ubuntu 23 to Ubuntu 24. Somehow this
upgrade process went wrong because the Linux kernel did not update from
driver version=6.5.0-35-generic to 6.8.0-31-generic. On Ubuntu 24.04 +
Linux 6.5 everything works fine and there are no difficulties other than
not being able to install an appropriate version of `linux-tools-
generic` from apt.

I am now intending to upgrade the Linux kernel to 6.8.0-31-generic, I
have the two kernels available side by side at the bios menu on the same
machine. The touchpad is not functional at all when using Linux 6.8.

On Ubuntu 24.04 + Linux kernel 6.5, sudo lshw -C input returns 14
devices, three of which are mouse-related.
