peterthevicar, I would update the BIOS to the latest available (1.70). If nothing changes with that, the next step would be to test the latest mainline kernel via http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v3.14-trusty/ and advise if the problem is still reproducible.
