Roderick - a possible workaround might be to disable wifi from the BIOS, do the install, then restore wifi.

It's failed on every one of them. The installer hangs on an empty purple screen (see screen shot). Switching to VT4 reveals kernel error messages, which also appear in /var/log/syslog. (A bash shell can be obtained on VT2 or VT3 to retrieve this log file.) I'm attaching a copy of the log file.
