On a small percentage of boots we encounter a repeated kernel warning which comes from fs/inode.c: if (!inode->i_nlink) { WARN_ON(atomic_long_read(&inode->i_sb->s_remove_count) == 0); atomic_long_dec(&inode->i_sb->s_remove_count); } Using strace to attach to the pid logged in the warning the filesystem is a tmpfs (either separate, e.g. /run or as the writeable layer of an aufs overlay for /). This can be raised for different filesystem operations, in this example do_unlinkat, others do_renameat2. The problem does not seem to be hardware specific as we have encountered on five different systems.
