They provide a Linux driver at their web site (http://www.asix.com.tw/products.php?op=pItemdetail&PItemID=131;71;112) and it works nicely for me. It would be awesome if Ubuntu would include this driver into its kernel package, so that USB adapters based on this chip work out of the box.
