Co-worker of mine has the same machine running the same kernel
(6.2.0-32-generic) and said everything is fine with his, so this will
probably be difficult to replicate...

Title:
Machine is not shutting down due to a kernel issue

Status in linux-hwe-6.2 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
My Dell Precision 5570 hangs on restart, shutdown, and hibernate.
I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS and have full disk encryption (not sure if
that's relevant).

I asked a couple of questions on Ask Ubuntu, but didn't get anything
  useful. Here they are:

  https://askubuntu.com/questions/1483865/suspend-not-working-ubuntu-22-04
  https://askubuntu.com/questions/1484374/restarting-freezes-due-to-snap

  It seems related to
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/finalrd/+bug/1905166 but
after some digging around, I think it might be kernel related.

6.2.0-31-generic and 6.2.0-32-generic exhibit the problem, but
5.19.0-50-generic does not - when I load that version of the kernel
the machine shuts down just fine.

I haven't tried running a newer kernel yet. I was going to file a bug report
on kernel.org but they advise to file it with the distro.
