@steffel et al. I believe there are two different problems here.
1) A generic reboot/suspend/halt issue. When powering off or suspending, the machine doesn't fully turn off. The fan is still spinning and it can only be revived by pulling the plug. This is what this bug is about. 2) A similarly looking problem but caused (?) by a nouveau issue as seen in comment #18. I think this is a different issues.
