After one day it started playing up (also display started glitching and twitching) so reinstalled a few times. Touchpad did not work for long time, I did many exercises found on various forums e.g. reinstalling drivers, uninstalling libinput, added conf file, etc. Every now and then touchpad comes back working for some time and then stops. Even when it works Gnome settings don't show touchpad option(tab), only mouse. When the touchpad works, no scrolling option works. When it worked, xinput --list-props did not show any id for scrolling. I have removed xserver-xorg-input-synaptics now and touchpad still doesn't work. I also tried all tips from https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/289214 but none worked.
