Status in linux-signed-hwe-5.15 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Now and then I have the problem, that the screen turns off after seconds of keyboard or mouse inactivity. I think that it changes with kernel versions but I'm not 100% sure that kernel version is the cause. The annoying bug is present for some time then it's gone, and after a while, the problem is back. Two days ago following packages were installed or updated, since then the problem is there again: Install: linux-hwe-5.15-headers-5.15.0-57:amd64 (5.15.0-57.63~20.04.1, automatic), linux-image-5.15.0-57-generic:amd64 (5.15.0-57.63~20.04.1, automatic), linux-headers-5.15.0-57-generic:amd64 (5.15.0-57.63~20.04.1, automatic), linux-modules-extra-5.15.0-57-generic:amd64 (5.15.0-57.63~20.04.1, automatic), linux-modules-5.15.0-57-generic:amd64 (5.15.0-57.63~20.04.1, automatic) Upgrade: linux-headers-generic-hwe-20.04:amd64 (5.15.0.56.62~20.04.22, 5.15.0.57.63~20.04.23), update-manager-core:amd64 (1:20.04.10.10, 1:20.04.10.11), linux-libc-dev:amd64 (5.4.0-135.152, 5.4.0-136.153), libcurl4:amd64 (7.68.0-1ubuntu2.14, 7.68.0-1ubuntu2.15), libksba8:amd64 (1.3.5-2ubuntu0.20.04.1, 1.3.5-2ubuntu0.20.04.2), update-manager:amd64 (1:20.04.10.10, 1:20.04.10.11), linux-image-generic-hwe-20.04:amd64 (5.15.0.56.62~20.04.22, 5.15.0.57.63~20.04.23), gir1.2-nautilus-3.0:amd64 (1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.1, 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.2), linux-generic-hwe-20.04:amd64 (5.15.0.56.62~20.04.22, 5.15.0.57.63~20.04.23), libfabric1:amd64 (1.6.2-3, 1.6.2-3ubuntu0.1), nautilus:amd64 (1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.1, 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.2), libnautilus-extension1a:amd64 (1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.1, 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.2), python3-update-manager:amd64 (1:20.04.10.10, 1:20.04.10.11), nautilus-data:amd64 (1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.1, 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.2), curl:amd64 (7.68.0-1ubuntu2.14, 7.68.0-1ubuntu2.15), libcurl3-gnutls:amd64 (7.68.0-1ubuntu2.14, 7.68.0-1ubuntu2.15) Today I figured out that xset -dpms solves the problem but xset s off does not.
