I'm not sure it will solve problem for other ALC298 soundcards but it works fine for me. Sound difference between the windows driver and the linux one comes from software remixing (in particular to take into account the internal speaker response). You will find better results by using easyeffets. I would be very interested in a solution to get this internal speaker response without costing materials, but i don't know how to do that. The brightness has some flickering problems at low brightness. I'm not sure that it comes from the brightness management itself.
