Public bug reported: [Impact]
We currently compile the Kinetic raspi armhf kernels with gcc-11 because a gcc-12-compiled armhf raspi kernel won't boot or hang. We need to figure out what's going on and fix it to be able to go back to the default compiler. [Test Case] Boot armhf kernel and exercise the system. It either won't come up at all or hang/freeze later on. ** Affects: linux-raspi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux-raspi (Ubuntu Kinetic) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Also affects: linux-raspi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: gcc-12 (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - The armhf kernel is compiled with gcc-11 + armhf kernels are compiled with gcc-11 ** Also affects: linux-raspi (Ubuntu Kinetic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-raspi (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: linux-raspi (Ubuntu Kinetic) Status: New => Confirmed ** Description changed: - We currently compile the raspi armhf kernels with gcc-11 because a - gcc-12 compiled armhf raspi kernel won't boot or hang.
