Any news on rolling back 418 to it's own branch ? There are updates to the 418 branch that were never released by the ppa :
The PPA had the 418.56, while nVidia released the 418.113 version. Currently no 418 package exist in the ppa at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-418 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1853758 Title: Forcing incompatible Nvidia drivers Status in nvidia-graphics-drivers-418 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: On Ubuntu 18.0.4.3 and 19.10, The driver installer keeps forcing incompatible drivers for my Nvidia GPU. If I add the PPA it only gives me the incompatible drivers. My Nvidia Card is a GTX 770m which requires the 418 driver. Even if I install 18.0.4.2 and 19.04 Ubuntu then upgrade, the system automatically installs the 430 drivers over the 418 one and the 430 drivers do not work at all with all cards. Driver number is not the same as being the newest driver, the 418 drivers are constantly being updated and that's the newest for my GPU. Please fix this mess.
