Public bug reported: Ubuntu MATE so buggy I had to reinstall (UEFI mode). Now HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 will not print but scanner works fine (It is an all-in-one) printer. Cannon install tesseract-ocr.
Tried booting Ubuntu MATE 18.04 on a different drive. Get flashing dots all night. Will not boot. Machine is ASUS A88XM-A with 32GB DRam. A WD 1TB SSD with Ubuntu Mate 20.04.3 (not working). A WD 4TB HD with Ubuntu Mate 18.04 (not working). Running Linux Mint with Cinamon has no problem printing. Just Ubuntu. Found linux image: /boot/vmlinuz-5.13.0-28-generic downloads 17% then crashes. repeatedly!
