Public bug reported: Reporting a bug using ubuntu-bug invariably seems to attach my system username to the bug description. If I try to edit that description in order to remove the username, it succeeds, but I'm not informed that every version of the description is being saved and published publicly for anyone, making all edits useless for the sake of privacy.
I now have only one choice if I want to not disclose my system username: don't use ubuntu-bug anymore for any bug reporting. Also it means I'd have to mark already reported bugs as Private, which more often than not informs me that it will be visible to no one... ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1948729 Title: ubuntu-bug bleeds username into Launchpad comments making it impossible to redact Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Reporting a bug using ubuntu-bug invariably seems to attach my system username to the bug description.
