Noting here that the fix for 1936708 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/hirsute/+source/linux/+bug/1936708) also resolves this problem for me. (Granted, that seems to be in the works only for 5.11.x on Hirsute, and not 5.8.x on Focal, but I figure it's worth flagging for others affected.) Not sure when they'll put the finishing touches on that kernel release, but it's one to look forward to.
