Public bug reported:
SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: v5.14.3 upstream stable release from git://git.kernel.org/ Linux 5.14.3 cxl/acpi: Do not add DSDT disabled ACPI0016 host bridge ports cxl/pci: Fix lockdown level cxl/pci: Fix debug message in cxl_probe_regs() PCI: Call Max Payload Size-related fixup quirks early x86/reboot: Limit Dell Optiplex 990 quirk to early BIOS versions staging: mt7621-pci: fix hang when nothing is connected to pcie ports xhci: Fix failure to give back some cached cancelled URBs. xhci: fix unsafe memory usage in xhci tracing xhci: fix even more unsafe memory usage in xhci tracing usb: mtu3: fix the wrong HS mult value usb: mtu3: use @mult for HS isoc or intr usb: mtu3: restore HS function when set SS/SSP usb: gadget: tegra-xudc: fix the wrong mult value for HS isoc or intr usb: cdnsp: fix the wrong mult value for HS isoc or intr usb: xhci-mtk: fix issue of out-of-bounds array access usb: host: xhci-rcar: Don't reload firmware after the completion Bluetooth: btusb: Make the CSR clone chip force-suspend workaround more generic Bluetooth: Add additional Bluetooth part for Realtek 8852AE ALSA: usb-audio: Add registration quirk for JBL Quantum 800 Revert "r8169: avoid link-up interrupt issue on RTL8106e if user enables ASPM" igmp: Add ip_mc_list lock in ip_check_mc_rcu can: c_can: fix null-ptr-deref on ioctl() firmware: dmi: Move product_sku info to the end of the modalias ** Affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux-oem-5.14 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-oem-5.14 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1943973 Title: Focal update: v5.14.3 upstream stable release Status in linux-oem-5.14 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in linux-oem-5.14 source package in Focal: New Bug description: SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch.
