Tried installing on a Dell laptop and an Compaq Qube mini desktop. Doesn't even get to the screen where you choose Try or Install Ubuntu. It hangs at the message: (process:186): Pango-WARNING **: failed to choose a font, expect ugly output. engine-type='PangoRenderFc', script='latin' Both of these computers have had Ubuntu installed before. The Qube had 10.04 for several years, and I was most happy with it. I only decided to upgrade as it's no longer supported. I wish I hadn't bothered as it's been nothing but trouble ever since. I liked 10.04, but Unity is horrible, I've tried 11, 12, 13 and now 14, and I'm now considering moving away from Ubuntu. I've downgraded to 12.10, which is also no longer supported, but remains the most recent version that runs successfully.
