I have a PH4TRX but with a 16:10 screen (2880x1800) not the 'standard' display format you'll find when you search for this type (which is apparently 2560x1600, so a bit confusing). They seem very closely related (see: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Schenker-launches-the- Vision-14-a-light-new-16-10-ultrabook-with-3K-display-options-and- expandable-RAM-storage.544343.0.html )
When I wanted to upgrade from Ubuntu 20.04.2 to 21.04 it at first seemed a bit like flickering, but when installed it was completely unusable. I have not tried with the different boot parameters suggested in the post above, but it seems very comparable. Also maybe comparable with Dell XPS 13 troubles (the fix suggested there doesn't work) https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/Dell-XPS-13-9310-Display-issue-after- installing-update/td-p/7735493 I'll try the suggestion with a startup disk soon and U. 21.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938039 Title: Tongfang PH4TUX1 flickering with 3k eDP Display on 5.11 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The Tongfang PH4TUX1 barebone has occasional display flickering with a 3k eDP display on 5.11 ubuntu kernel, but not on 5.8 ubuntu kernel. Setting i915.enable_psr=0 as a boot parameter fixes the issue, so my guess is that this patch missing on 5.11 is causing the regression: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/git/ubuntu/ubuntu- focal.git/commit/?h=hwe-5.8&id=c6625a005bd1a2e02773c7633df211be95fa0d09 Will this default disabled-behaviour be carried over to 5.11?
