Towards the later part of the boot process, I am able to get the normal small text. However, this text is also at times of the wrong dimension (vertical height is shorter than normal). Another possibly related issue is that when I boot with splash screen, the boot splash screen is sometimes not of the correct dimension on the screen. At times, the "ubuntu" logo with the 5 dots below is way too small and look exactly like the font used for the text mode boot up. This also happens on and off, and when I'm lucky I can get the normal sized ubuntu boot splash screen. I'm not sure if it's a graphics driver issue, but here are some of the details of my system's display: OpenGL vendor string: X.Org R300 Project OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on ATI RV515 OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.11 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon X2300 --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
