It seems that the error message is not the reason why the installer does not start. I figured out that my working saucy also gives that message and then starts without problems.
The latest daily build hangs in the black screen a long time but then starts the installer. Which does not look very fancy (see attachted screenshot). ** Attachment added: "Trusty installer on kvm" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1278476/+attachment/3976137/+files/trusty1.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1278476 Title: Installer does not start in kvm Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I started the iso of trusty alpha2 in kvm and get this error message on the host: Could not access KVM kernel module: No such file or directory failed to initialize KVM: No such file or directory Back to tcg accelerator.
