You have been subscribed to a public bug: So, after trying multiple versions of Ubuntu (usb installer), all of them failed to boot. Also lubuntu. I was able to fix it using this comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxhardware/comments/b39orv/ryzen_3550h_asus_tuf_gaming_fx505dy_do_i_need_to/ejeqkji/
In particular, just doing this: "I found that the 256gb nvme Asus used was a wd black series and it has issues on Linux. Try using this on your kernel boot line: nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=5500" I added this to grub and it works perfectly now. This is on an ASUS fx505dy with a Western Digital 256gb nvme black series, and I've seen other users with the same hard drive report similar problems, but different laptops so I think it the HD. sorry, I don't know what package is responsible for this. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- All versions of Ubuntu hang on boot, bug with NVME drive, i think https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1915931 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
