Hi Glenn, That first screenshot in comment #17 is most telling. It shows the BIOS screen is rendered half right and half wrong. So given some of the problems persist in the BIOS screen (when no OS is running) AND in Windows 10, I think it's likely the screen is faulty and needs replacing. But maybe we can still improve the Linux situation...
Next, 1. Please verify the problem occurs in both 'Ubuntu' and 'Ubuntu on Wayland' sessions. 2. Log into a regular 'Ubuntu' session and run: xrandr --verbose > xrandrv.txt cat /sys/class/drm/*/edid > edids.bin and attach the resulting files here. 3. Look in Settings > Screen Display and try selecting different values of 'Resolution' and 'Refresh Rate'. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Also affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906086 Title: DIsplay is limited to top half of the screen Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Display is limited to the top half of the screen.
