Public bug reported: Hi, On the repository server of Ubuntu / Xubuntu 20.04, the version of "Calibre" (to read ebooks) proposed is 4.99.4 but it doesn't launch.
On Calibre website (https://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux), it's written : The latest release of calibre is 5.9.0. Please do not use your distribution provided calibre package, as those are often buggy/outdated. Instead use the Binary install described below. Could a more recent version of Calibre, which should work better, be proposed on the repository server ? ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1911449 Title: Calibre fails on ubuntu 20.04 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi, On the repository server of Ubuntu / Xubuntu 20.04, the version of "Calibre" (to read ebooks) proposed is 4.99.4 but it doesn't launch.
