Title:
Issues with LiveUSB related to persistant mode

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After downloading the Ubuntu 20.10 ISO, burning it out on a USB stick
and testing it(savings weren't saved) some time ago, I had decided to
modify it and add "persistant" (as described in Ubuntu domumentation)
to it to store the settings. After I did that, following problems
started to occur with the system:

  1. Ubuntu started to work much slower then before adding "persistant"
  2. after the computer was turned off (with proper system shutdown) and then
turned on, wifi has "vanished" (in the "Additional drivers" tab of the Software
Properties it was selected to use the driver, but it seem like the Wifi
interface wasn't existing anymore. I had to do following steps to restore it:

in the Software Properties in the tab "Additional drivers":

  * select "don't use this device" and clicked "apply"
  * had to restrart the computer

in the Software Properties in the tab "Additional drivers" (again):
  * select "use the <wifi device name> (...)" and click apply

after that I could close the Software properties with wifi restored
