There was more discussion at https://github.com/snapcore/pc- amd64-gadget/issues/48, but no I don't think this has changed, we still have the serial tty in the kernel cmdline at the very least.
Last we talked about it in a meeting, Claudio measured that indeed the UC20 kernel regressed as compared to UC18 in this respect. There are delays in both cases but the delay is longer on UC20. ** Bug watch added: github.com/snapcore/pc-amd64-gadget/issues #48 https://github.com/snapcore/pc-amd64-gadget/issues/48 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1879290 Title: pc: no message on the screen for ~30s on fast HW Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in snapd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: The boot on real HW (ARock B450, Ryzen, NVME 240Gb) takes a long time without any visible feedback.
