Public bug reported:
Release 20.04 LTS with MATE desktop on RPi 4 with 4GB.
Running with root on SSD and /boot on SD.
Following "sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade", I get a series of
errors starting with:
Setting up linux-image-5.4.0-1013-raspi (5.4.0-1013.13) ...
Failed to create symlink to vmlinuz-5.4.0-1013-raspi: Operation not permitted at
/usr/bin/linux-update-symlinks line 64.
dpkg: error processing package linux-image-5.4.0-1013-raspi (--configure):
installed linux-image-5.4.0-1013-raspi package post-installation script subproc
ess returned error exit status 1
As expected following this failure, "uname -a" gives:
Linux ubuntu 5.4.0-1012-raspi #12-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 27 04:08:35 UTC 2020
aarch64 aarch64 aarch64 GNU/Linux
The system works normally.
I should add that there was an unusual occurrence following an upgrade a
couple of weeks ago. All the files in /boot/firmware were moved to /boot
and the /firmware folder removed. As the system continued working after
this, I assumed that it was an intentional upgrade, but may it is
related to this problem.
