You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have had a problem for over a year that the system freezes from time to time. This has appeared in the three last distributions (9.10, 10.4, 10.10). I have all the time suspected problems with the graphics driver, but not been able to trace the exact reason. "Freeze" means that there is no reaction to the mouse or keyboard, and I have to shut it down by pressing the power button. Lately it has started to freeze after logging in from the graphics window within 30 seconds.
Today I traced the problem to Firefox: After I renamed my .kde the system became stable. Typically I have not close down Firefox before logging out, and kde automatically started up Firefox as soon as I logged in. Now the system is stable if I do not start up Firefox. When I start up Firefox it freezes. ** Affects: null-and-void Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Incomplete -- Firefox crashes on startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/675127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
