Things work fine as soon as I switch from Compiz to Metacity. Also, it is enough to close and reopen the misbehaving file for things to return to normal. I have found an expired and unanswered question in launchpad refering to the same problem: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+question/69090 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Dependencies: DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: openoffice.org None [modified: /var/lib/dpkg/info/openoffice.org.list] ProcEnviron: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: openoffice.org Uname: Linux 2.6.28-13-generic x86_64 UnreportableReason: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/397880/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
