I'm having the same experience.  I thought it might be a duplicate of
1838133 (a regression in this case, since that one has been fixed).

My wireless adapter is an RTL8822BE which shows up in lspci and lshw -C
network, although under the 5.4.0-28 kernel lshw shows it as disabled
(it appears to work for a few seconds after startup). dsmeg shows some
issues with changing the power mode of the device although I am too much
of a noob to understand it.

The issue is also present in the 20.04 live CD. In this case Wifi is
initially working and I can see wireless networks, but as soon as a I
connect to a network it dissappears.

Rolling back to 19.10 under kernel 5.3.0.51 fixes the issue.
