Julien Olivier, thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, if you are unwilling to update the BIOS, this report is at a standstill. The upstream card maintainer has made it quite clear an outdated BIOS would need to be updated to rule this out. While exception to this could happen, for example, one has a poorly written, but fully updated BIOS, refusing to update, because you don't feel like it, wouldn't meet this criteria.
When you have provided the requested information as outlined in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1036102/comments/31 we may resume where you left this off. Thank you for your understanding. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1036102 Title: Card reader not working on Dell Inspiron M301Z Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: On my Dell Inspiron M301Z, there is a built-in SD card reader, but it doesn't work. --- ApportVersion: 2.4-0ubuntu6 Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: julien 5794 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: julien 5794 F.... pulseaudio DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=ab3d5b62-d785-4caa-82f8-68eb4932a418 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100816.1) MachineType: Dell Inc.
