Just to clarify, my experience referenced in comment #1 was with the Ubuntu Desktop daily-live CD posted at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu /daily-live/20191008/ running under Oracle Virtualbox v6.012.

The installer refused to install a boot loader on both sda and sdb, but after booting from ext4 and: updating /etc/default/grub update-grub and grub-install /dev/sda I have a nice dual boot system in Virtualbox :slight_smile: I think the installer should have installed the boot loader.
