Public bug reported: Upgraded to Ubuntu 19.10 from 19.04.
On first boot of 19.10, Kernel 5.3.0.13-generic crashed with an error in tpm_read_log_efi(), see screenshot. Disabling TPM in BIOS allowed successful boot of kernel 5.3.0.13-generic. Kernel 5.0.0-31-generic will boot 19.10 successfully, with or without TPM enabled in the BIOS. Hardware is HP EliteBook 840 G5. BIOS not most recent, cannot upgrade without installing Windows. --- $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu Eoan Ermine (development branch) Release: 19.10 $ apt-cache policy linux-generic linux-generic: Installed: 5.3.0.13.14 Candidate: 5.3.0.13.14 Version table: *** 5.3.0.13.14 500 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu eoan/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: eoan kernel-bug ** Attachment added: "Kernel oops" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847042/+attachment/5295069/+files/size-reduced-for-launchpad.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-meta in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847042 Title: Kernel 5.3.0-13-generic crashes at boot in tpm_read_log_efi(), HP EliteBook 840 G5 Status in linux-meta package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Upgraded to Ubuntu 19.10 from 19.04.
